Best Natural Oils for Hair and Skin

Natural oils have many benefits for the hair and skin. It can very easily replace all the expensive creams, and moisturizers we spend money on to achieve great results, when we can get those great results with these natural oils. All of these oils can be found at your local grocery store, health food store, vitamin store or any major online consumer website. Amazon, Ebay, GNC, and many other websites have these oils. 

 

 

1. Henna Oil

Much like tea tree oil, Henna oil acts as a healing oil. If you have cuts, burns, or scars, Henna oil is meant to repair the damages. This oil conditions the skin and makes the skin soft. Unlike other oils that mainly sit on your skin and absorbs over time, this unique oils blends into your skin like lotion and absorbs right away. This will leave your skin glowing and shiny, and is another oil that acts as a protective barrier against the harsh environmental factors. It helps bruised skin, sore skin, sun damaged skin, and dry skin. Henna oil also is great for your hair. You can rub a little bit into your scalp and work it through the ends of your hair for moisturizing. Like other oils rubbed on the scalp, henna oil also helps stimulate hair growth. 

 

 

2. Castor Oil

Coming from the castor plant, castor oils works wonders for your skin and hair! Many black women use castor oil after having hair damages such as brittle dry hair, and hair that has broken off around the edges. Castor oil also stimulates hair growth and can make your edges stronger. I would use castor oil to help grow out my eyebrows and also leave it on my skin over night. I must say, I'm glad I did! My skin was very smooth and I did not need to put lotion on. It also grew my brows out after they were harshly plucked. Castor oil help new hair grow in stronger and healthier leaving your hair looking thicker and stronger! 

 

 

 

3. Olive Oil 

Olive oil is a very popular oil used in the hair and the skin. As for the hair, the key word with olive oil is hydration. As us black women well know, type 4 hair gets dry very easily and after our wash n go styles we need something that locks in the moisture for our hair. Olive oil works great with our hair and leaves it moisturized. You don't need a lot of olive oil as a little goes a long way. Apply olive oil while the hair is wet, and work it to the ends of the hair. You will be satisfied with the results! As for the skin, it leaves the skin feeling soft and can remove excess dirt left over on your face. Use with a cotton pass or gently work oil in with fingertips and experience the rejuvenation of the skin! 

 

 

 

4. Jojoba Oil 

 

Jojoba oil comes from the plan jojoba. This is another oil that benefits dry, damaged hair. This is a great use for the scalp and edge of the hair. According to naturalhealingideas.com, jojoba oil acts as a soothing agent for irritated, burned skin as well and can even control acne! This is a great investment that will give the skin and hair great results with consistent use! 

 

 

 

5. Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is a great moisturizer for the hair and skin. Let coconut oil sit in your face over night or a few hours and experience the rejuvenation and glow of the skin. This oil leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth all over. Coconut oil is beneficial for those who suffer from scarring because as reported in healthline.com, it acts as a 20% sunscreen. This will prevent your scars from getting worse as you step out into the sun. As for your hair, coconut oil can help relieve thirsty hair and malnourished hair as coconuts contain different vitamins and minerals.
